My Skills

The reason my overall skill percentage bars are so low is because, to me, skills are just tools to get what I want. Why should I spend time and effort learning a skill deeply if I will only use it for a few specific reasons?

Digital Skills

Software Engineering

I do not enjoy coding; I find it exceedingly boring, and I am bad at it anyway. It's like reading, but without getting a good story back in return. I only really do it for goals (e.g., coding a website, creating some simple microcontroller projects, etc.).

C / C++1%

I have made a few Arduino and ESP32 projects that used C, but that was years ago, and I have forgotten most of it. I think I will get better at it when I create a couple more projects.

Web Development

I don't know much about web development; I have only created three sites: this one and two others for my writing, so don't expect much.

HTML5%

Probably the simplest coding language out there. I know how to write and edit HTML, but don't expect me to have all HTML tags memorized.

CSS3%

Same as HTML; don't expect me to have the selectors and properties memorized, but I do know how to edit them.

JavaScript1%

Honestly, I don't know nor care much about it. I only really use it for simple slide-in animations.

3D Software

I honestly don't really care for 3D software; I find it boring, very time-consuming, and I am bad at it.

Unreal Engine 53%

I am working on making my own video game. I am just starting, so I am still quite bad at it.

Blender2%

I honestly know almost nothing about it. I have only made a couple of simple projects before; the furthest I ever came was creating a donut.

Autodesk Software

I only know AutoCAD right now, but I am interested in engineering, so I think I will learn more Autodesk software in the future.

AutoCAD2%

I don't know much about it. I have only ever created a simple 2D map for a fantasy castle.

Adobe

I am not that good at Adobe software; I have never really needed to use it that much. (I have also used other software like GIMP, DaVinci Resolve, Affinity, etc. I can use them as well, but I am not as experienced with them.)

Photoshop7.5%

I honestly am not that good at Photoshop. I have only really used it for Instagram posts, YouTube thumbnails, book covers, and simple logos.

Premiere Pro5%

I have only ever really used it to make some YouTube videos with basic editing.

After Effects2%

I have only used it a couple of times to make some mediocre edits and manga animations.

Lightroom1.5%

I have only used it a couple of times to edit some photos. I honestly am just pretty bad at photo editing in general.

InDesign7.5%

I have used it a couple of times to format and add images and art to some books.

Office

I haven't really used office apps since high school, but I do know how to use them. (Since LibreOffice, Google Docs, Notion, etc., are basically the same stuff, this goes for them as well.)

Word65%

I haven't really used Word in years. I prefer Scrivener, Obsidian, Notion, Google Docs, etc., but I do know how to use Word and used it in high school.

PowerPoint65%

I haven't really used it in years, but I do know how to use it. (The same goes for Google Slides, of course.)

Excel70%

I use it for personal finance and keeping track of tasks. I don't really use it beyond that, so my knowledge is limited.

Physical Skills

3D Printing

I know FDM 3D printing. I have been wanting to get into resin printing for a while now, but it's just too expensive, and my apartment doesn't have good ventilation.

FDM 3D Printing35%

I have printed quite a lot of 3D prints and have modeled a few simple ones.

Resin 3D Printing0%

I have been wanting to get into resin 3D printing for a while now, but it's just too expensive, and my apartment doesn't have good ventilation. I plan to buy one soon, so expect this percentage to grow.

Linguistic Skills

I have always been bad at languages, so don't expect much.

Dutch50%

It's my native language, yet I am still quite bad at it.

English35%

The language I read and write the most in. I have only been able to speak English for a couple of years, so I am still bad at it, but I am improving.

I have written quite a few things in English, and I will continue to do so, so I think I will get a lot better at it in the future.

Latin1%

I am quite bad at it and only know a couple of words, but given how deeply Latin is integrated into scientific fields like biology with taxonomy, etc., I suspect I will get better at it in the future.
